Elinor Caves - Jerry Joyce Living Legacy Award
Foodnet Volunteer Elinor Caves and Retired Pastor Harold Hamilton were presented with the 2012 Jerry Joyce Living Legacy Award, presented by Lincoln-based Legacy Retirement Communities and KFOR radio. The award recognizes unsung heroes in the Lincoln community that are making a substantial impact and positively affecting the lives of people in our local community.
Elinor has served on the FoodNet board for the past two years and has helped to secure many donations and grants for FoodNet. This helps to provide drivers with gas cards, containers for food distribution, gloves, etc. She writes and personally delivers letters to thank businesses for their continuing support of FoodNet. She currently serves as the co-coordinator of the Center for the People In Need distribution site.
Our very own Lois & Shirley were recently featured in the Lincoln Journal-Star article "Two women are the heart of Foodnet's Volunteer Network." Thank you ladies for your dedication to Foodnet and to those who benefit, both the givers and recipients!
